Topsy-Turvy Attempt

We had been asked to make a topsy-turvy cake. Ray had never used fondant to cover a cake so we werent sure how to attempt this. After a couple of website instructions - we attempted a 'small' version. It wasnt as bad as we thought it would be. The next one will definitely be taller. Still 2 levels I think but just double the height and a little wider size pan too. These were 6" & 5" pans. Overall I think it turned out very nice!

As for the Topsy-Turvy Attempt cake- I was the proud recipient of the cake and everyone at school LOVED it!! The front office staff wanted to know what the special occasion was and all of the teachers that I shared the cake with, were totally impressed with Raymond's cake decorating abilities. And then when I told them how old he is, they were even more impressed!! It was a shame to cut into the cake and ruin the decorations, but it was rather tasty, too! I loved the fondant. Probably could eat an entire bowl of it...
